Carly is a graduate of York University’s Kinesiology and Health Science and Athletic Therapy programs. Carly has completed her Massage Therapy program at the Ontario College of Health and Technology and is registered to the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO).
With training in athletic therapy, Carly has worked with athletes of all levels, from tyke football to Masters track world record holders. With expertise in concussions and taping, Carly is currently working with football, cheerleading, and roller derby clubs.
Her interest in concussions arose from a personal experience; knowing how difficult it can be to overcome concussion symptoms inspires her to help others. She has created and implemented concussion protocols for local sport clubs.
Carly has experience with the industrial athlete; she worked inside a car manufacturing plant treating line workers with over-use injuries. Using both, hands-on and active treatments, she was able to help many workers return to work, not just pain free, but stronger and more resilient.
As an adjunct to her massage therapy practice, Carly has introduced “Cupping”. Cupping therapy is a type of negative pressure massage where suction is applied to the surface of the body using silicone cups. Cupping is said to improve blood circulation, lymphatic flow throughout the body and increases relaxation.
